Professional Development
The Professional Learning & Development and Training offer has been developed following extensive evaluation by schools. It is relevant to current priorities and includes development opportunities for staff members, at all stages of their career.
As we constantly review development and learning needs within schools we may update our offer to include new courses and programmes. Please visit our website regularly for updates or sign up to our mailing list here.

Professional Development Pathway
Our Professional Development pathway includes opportunities for all stages of your career, including a full NQT programme (in partnership with Solihull Teaching Schools), early career, new to leadership, middle leadership and senior leadership. We deliver DfE National Professional Qualifications (NPQ) for Middle and Senior Leaders in partnership with Leadership Live.
Strategic School Improvement and Professional Learning
In order for staff to be aware of the latest developments in Teaching and Learning and have an opportunity to share best practice and receive training from leading experts, we offer a range of professional learning events and courses. This will include conference days, workshops or programmes specific to local and national strategic priorities.
Core Skills and Training
We offer a range of training to develop essential skills and training to support working in an educational setting. This ranges from essential training such as Safeguarding and First Aid, to skills such as Makaton and Team Teach, and support for key functions such as Managing Attendance.
Networks and Moderation
A broad range of networks are available for a variety of roles and subject areas, including: English Leaders, Maths Leaders, Early Years, SENCo's, Pastoral (previously CFSW), Computing, School Business Managers and NQT. Moderation events are held each year for Early Years, Reading, Writing and Maths. The networks and moderation events are run in partnership with the North Solihull Collaborative.
